A program driven by youth to support youth, emotionally; to help youth understand more about their roots and culture; to have better rapport when communicating with parents and elders and help them understand the challenges they face; to have the courage to talk about issues considered taboo in our culture; to learn to give back to the community in their own way in a safe supportive environment.
The performing arts are a form of creative expression that allows a performer to engage deeply in music, rhythm, and/or movements. At ICC West Valley, our diversity brings you a rich and spectacular variety of art forms showcasing both the local artists as well as internationally acclaimed artists to our neck of the woods.
WELLNESS: FITNESS & NUTRITION
A program geared towards embracing and practicing the Art of staying Fit and Art of eating Healthy. At ICC west valley we bring to you experienced practitioners of Yoga, Pilates, and Hiking as well as Holistic Nutrition.
Yoga is an integrated health management system using breath, movement and meditation to unite mind, body and spirit.
Mat Pilates is a method of exercise that consists of low-impact flexibility and muscular strength and endurance movements. Pilates engages the deeper muscles by activating the powerhouse (core) using resistance technique and emphasizes proper postural alignment, core strength and muscle balance.
Hiking is a powerful cardio workout with several perks such as nice views, fresh air, and the sounds and smells of nature.
Holistic nutrition is all about eating healthy food as close to its natural state as possible for optimum health and well- being. Hallmarks of holistic nutrition include unrefined, unprocessed, organic and locally grown whole foods.
